Electric Heaters That Save Space

One way that you can comfortably heat up a room is by the use of electric heaters. They're compact, portable, and don't take up much space. Electric heaters come in two main types: radiant and convection.

Radiant electric heaters warm up a room by providing focused infrared heat. They're ideal for use when you want to warm up that favorite reading spot or another area where you tend to occupy one part of the room.

Convection electric heaters operate by warming up the air in a room. They do take more time to warm up a house, but they are effective at warming up a room.

Five Things You Need to Know about Installing Ventilation Fans

Ventilation fans can improve the quality of the air in your home. In bathrooms, they can prevent fogged mirrors, prevent mold and mildew growth, and eliminate stale odors. Here are four tips for installing ventilation fans in your home:

  1. Plan ahead to determine where you'll be running the duct to the ventilation fan.
  2. You can run the duct up through the attic to the roof or through a sidewall to the outdoors.
  3. Always exhaust the ventilation fan to the outdoors, never an attic space.
  4. Before you drill a hole, mark it with a small, drilled reference hole and mark all the cut holes prior to creating an opening.
  5. Have a spouse or friend help pass tools to you while you're working in the attic or down below to cut down the work time.
